Computer * boot first time, fine second time

Postby greglazor » Wed May 16, 2018 3:55 pm

I recently built a system using Tech Report's guide (which is great by the way), and it happens to be the first I have ever built. I assembled everything fine and it booted up right away the first time. I installed Windows 7 with no problem and have been playing games and such.
My problem is that on the next three times I have tried to boot the system after it is shut down for around 12 hours or more, it doesn't boot on the first try. My motherboard does not beep as it does when it boots up. If I hit reset or turn the power off, it then boots up right away on the second try and everything is normal. I have left it off for around 4 hour intervals and it still boots up normally, just not after longer ones it seems.
My googling suggests this could be a power supply problem, but I wondered if anyone had any other ideas. Here is my system...should I upgrade my power supply? Could the problem be something else?
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD4P LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel
Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W
Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16
Sony Optiarc Black DVD Burner
Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive

Any help will be apprecited.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
